Aim to reach Namsan about 20–30 minutes before sunset, then work backward from there.

Got an hour? Go in. Running late? Skip it and save the light for Namsan.

Take the smaller alleys
Start in Bukchon and leave the main street when something catches your eye. Follow the smaller alleys, look up at the rooftops, and give yourself permission to take way too many photos.
tipBukchon is still a residential neighborhood. Keep your voice down around the smaller lanes and doorways.

If Bukchon hasn't already stolen your afternoon, stop by the Seoul Museum of Craft Art near Anguk. Spend an hour with whatever catches your eye, then keep moving toward Namsan.

Watch Seoul light up
Get to Namsan before sunset and find your view. Stay as daylight fades and the city starts switching on below you.
